Veronica "Ronnie" (Smith) Pauer passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband Lyle.
Born on September 4, 1943, Ronnie's life was defined by her deep faith, her lifelong passion for music and her unwavering devotion to family and friends.
She was the beloved mother of David (Maria), Deborah (Matthew), Timothy (Anissa), and Phillip (Aya); and a proud grandmother of Isabela, Olivia, Alex, Gabriela, Gabriel, Kate, Antonio, Bennett, and Naomi. She is also survived by her siblings Terrence, Joe, and Teresa, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
Ronnie was a proud graduate of Magnificat High School. She met her husband, Lyle, at Saint Edward's "Tune Time," where he played in the band-beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in love and music. She was an active leader in the La Leche League of Ohio, where she supported and educated young mothers about breastfeeding. Her work was even featured on WEWS's Morning Exchange in the early 1970s. Ronnie was also a devoted parishioner of Saint Basil the Great Parish in Brecksville, including singing in the choir.
Ronnie will be remembered for her beautiful singing voice, her strong and steady faith, her deep pride in her family, and the love and care she showed to her grandchildren, friends, and all who knew her.
Friends will be received at Nosek-McCreery Funeral Home, 8150 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, OH 44141 on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 from 6-8 pm. Ronnie's Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Basil the Great Catholic Church, 8700 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, OH on Thursday, March 26th at 10 am (Please meet at church). Private family interment at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Jaycox Rd., Avon, OH.
