Susan Carol (Aichele) Jones

Susan Carol Jones (nee Aichele), beloved wife of the late Dick Jones, passed away at the age of 86 on Sunday, December 1, 2024.
 
Sue was born in Cleveland in 1938 to Louis and Dorothy Aichele (nee Brunner) and was quite the spoiled baby sister to Louis and George.  She was a proud 1956 graduate of West Tech High School and went on to have a successful career in telecommunications, retiring early from Sohio/BP.   Sue loved spending summers at her parent's cottage at Geauga Lake and throughout her life enjoyed family get-togethers where her taco salad and cheesecake were legendary.  As a mother of all girls, it was common, much to their chagrin, to dress them all in matching outfits insisting on only white knee socks.  She loved ladybugs, feeding the critters that frequented her backyard, pretzels with cream cheese and all things red, white and blue.  Being a grandmother and great-grandmother, however, was by far the thing that brought her the most happiness.  She enjoyed attending the many things they were involved in and loved taking them to the zoo. As the grandkids grew up to have their own families, zoo passes were a gift of choice to keep visits going.  She bragged like only a grandmother and great-grandmother could do and her family was her pride and joy.

Friends will be received at NOSEK-McCREERY FUNERAL HOME, 8150 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, OH 44141 on Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 11:00am-1:00 pm where a short celebration of life will begin at 1:00 pm.
