Stephen J. Matas, age 90 of Independence, OH passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Beloved husband of Giedra (nee Natkevicius); loving father of Richard Matas (Barbara) and Daina Matas (Patrick Allen); dearest grandfather of Stephen M., Emily, and Daniel; loving brother of Ona Rociunas.

Friends will be received at Nosek-McCreery Funeral Home, 8150 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, OH 44141 on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 5-8 pm.  Stephen's Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 10 am at St. Basil Catholic Church, 8700 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, OH  (Please meet at church). Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery, Northfield, OH.
