Robert "Bob" Stachowicz

It is with great sadness we share that Robert “Bob” John Stachowicz, 64, left this world suddenly on November 9, 2022. A beloved husband, parent, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, his absence is already deeply felt.

Bob, known to many that loved him as “Stack,” was the life of the party and the friend and coach we all wanted. Born in Cleveland and a graduate of Brecksville High School, Bob went on to play football at Michigan State, proudly wearing his 1978 Big 10 championship ring for the decades of his life that followed. 

To know Bob was to love him. He had a contagious zest and enthusiasm for life, constantly bringing everyone into the fun. He was a natural conversationalist, always taking great interest in what was important to those around him. Bob adored all of the kids and especially reveled in being a grandfather, attending as many games and events as possible and being the playmate and storyteller they all enjoyed with every visit. He truly made everyone he knew and met feel loved. 

Bob is survived by his wife, Nancy, the love of his life, best friend, and teammate for the last 25 years; their children, Lindsay (Scott) Hernandez, Adam (Sylvia) Cox, and Kennedy Copeland; his mother, Dolores Stachowicz; his brother, Ray (Patty) Stachowicz; his grandchildren, Gabriel, Jack, Julian, Asher, Lydia, Owen, and Maddox; his nieces, Tayler (DJ) Hasselbusch, Torey (Ben) Axelrod; great nieces and nephews, Decker, Tenley, Sonny and Brooklyn; siblings-in-law, Patricia (Bill) Wiley, Bill (Cindy) Stump, Kim (Chuck) Dunham, and Mark (Tia) Stump; his many other nieces, nephews, and dear family members and wonderful friends; and his dog and little companion, Tilly. Bob is preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Stachowicz. 

The family will be receiving visitors on Tuesday, November 15, from 4-7 p.m. at Nosek-McCreery Funeral Home, 8150 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 16, at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 8700 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, OH. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH)  Interment immediately following at All Saints Cemetery.
