Oscar Holzheimer, age 101, passed away peacefully at his home in Broadview Heights on Thursday October 30, 2025. Though we will miss him dearly, we are so grateful for every single day that we had with him and rejoice in knowing that he is now in the loving arms of our Lord and the family and friends who welcomed him home.
Oscar grew up on a farm in Valley City where farming, gardening, and hard work became ingrained in him. After high school, he enlisted in the service and was a WWII veteran who served his country in the Army Air Force. Upon returning home, he became a manager in the greenhouse business. He married Carol and they began their family in Old Brooklyn before moving to Broadview Heights in 1965. Later in his career, Oscar worked for the Brecksville-Broadview Heights schools in maintenance and janitorial services. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling, gardening, woodworking, driving his family on unplanned excursions, polka music, and the company of friends and neighbors. Above all, he enjoyed and loved his family!!
Oscar was the beloved husband of the late Carol for 72 years; devoted father of Alan Holzheimer (Emmalee), Richard Holzheimer (Susan), Elizabeth Fava (Alan), Miriam Bloch (Steven), Caroline Trapp (Richard), and the late Gary Holzheimer.
