Joyce Wuerth

JOYCE E. WUERTH (nee Hartshorn), age 83. Beloved wife of Bob for 47 years. Loving mother of Kerry Heuter (Amanda) and Jennifer Cooper (Brad aka Golden Child). Perfect grandmother of Kale, Hudson, and Kaia Heuter. Dear sister of Vernon Hartshorn (Ruth), and the late Norman Hartshorn (Clarice, surviving), Janet Williamson (Lee), Michael Hartshorn (Gay, surviving), and Wayne Hartshorn (Cathy, surviving). Dearest sister-in-law of Richard Wuerth (Peg, deceased). Cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Joyce worked for 60 years in the telecommunications industry where she started as a switchboard operator. Her organization and analytical skills helped advance her career to become a well respected technical trainer. She traveled internationally conducting training on network architecture and method of operations for four generations of switching technology.

Joyce was an active member of the Brecksville United Methodist Church. She was the Lay Leader and active in bible study and many other church activities. An accomplished basket weaver and avid book lover, she always found something to keep herself busy. She volunteered her time as secretary for Brecksville Center for the Arts. Joyce and Bob spent over 20 joyous years on their boat, A Muse, at Cedar Point Marina where they found their second family. Joyce served as secretary of the Point Yacht Club for many years where she dutifully kept everyone organized.

Joyce valiantly and gracefully fought dementia for five years. Her brilliant smile always lit up a room and will be greatly missed.

Family and friends will be received at NOSEK-McCREERY FUNERAL HOME, 8150 BRECKSVILLE RD., BRECKSVILLE, OH 44141 on Saturday, August 22, 2026 from 1-3:30 p.m. followed by Joyce's funeral service at 3:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Brecksville United Methodist Church, 65 Public Square, Brecksville, OH 44141 in Joyce's memory would be appreciated.
