JOHN LIONEL CROWN, age 98, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 10, 2024. Husband of the late Anne and beloved life partner of Carolyn Huber. "Mr. John" is survived by Carolyn's children, Dina (Todd) Dusek and Tim (Noreen) Krachko, and her grandchildren, Lauren and Charles Dusek, Nicholas and Gwenyth Krachko.
John went ashore in the Normandy Invasion during World War II at the age of 18, serving as an interpreter for the British Forces. He worked for Vauxhall Motors and Dehavelin Aircraft before joining Ford Motor Company in the United States. He was also an accomplished harmonica player having performed in many clubs in London.
A private entombment will be held at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery Mausoleum.
