Janet Marie (Eck) Rowland

Janet Marie Rowland (nee Eck) of Brecksville passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024. Beloved wife of William E. for 52 years; loving mother of Lindsay Douglas (Aaron), Ashley Rowland, Hilary Greenlee (Tyler); dearest grandmother of Bridgette, Grant, Mitchell, and Cedric; dear sister of Susan Earley (Edward).

Janet was a beloved Media Center educator with the Brecksville Broadview Heights School District for over 25 years. She was well loved in her community as well as her congregation at St. Basil the Great. She greeted everyone with a smile and enthusiasm. Janet loved to host gatherings at her home with family, friends, and neighbors for every holiday occasion. With this great hospitality, she was known for her exceptional desserts that still continue to be shared. Janet loved to travel and wished to visit all seven continents. Her favorite vacation spot was Sanibel Island in Florida where she created life long family memories. She loved her family dearly and her husband, three daughters, and grandchildren. She was the matriarch of the family and will be greatly missed. 

Friends will be received at Nosek-McCreery Funeral Home, 8150 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, OH 44141 on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 from 4-7 pm. Janet's Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 8700 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, OH on Wednesday, July 17 at 10 am (Please meet at church). 

In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations directly to the family. Donations will be used to set up a scholarship so that the legacy of excellent educators can be continued.
