Ignatius James Foliano

Ignatius "Nate" James Foliano, age 84 passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022. loving father of Julie Parrot, Jill Buls (Richard), Janet Foliano, Jennifer Harrison (Mark) and Terry Miller (Shannon); beloved former husband of Judy Foliano (nee Secunde); devoted grandfather of Nicole (John), Steven (Annie), Sean (Elizabeth), Samantha (Max), Erica, Morgan, Abby, Lily and Emma and great grandfather of June and Jackson; dear brother of Rosalind Brinkman and the late John Foliano; uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Nate has been known by many names - Nate, Ignatius, Iggy, Ig, Nazure.  As Nazure, he was the beloved son of Mary and James Foliano and brother to John and Rosalind.  He followed in his father James' footsteps by going into the the transportation industry in high school and decided to make a career out of it.   He was known as Iggy when attending Kent State University where he was a member of Theta Kappa Phi fraternity and graduated with a degree in Transportation Management.  As Ig, he was the husband to Judy (Secunde) for over 40 years.  He became known as Nate as he started his professional career as a terminal manager.  Along the way, he owned several trucking companies.  He was very involved in the transportation industry and served as the 80th President of the Traffic Club of Cleveland from 1993-1994 and the President of the Cleveland Trucking Association from 2001-2002. 

Nate loved life.  He lived it to the fullest.  He enjoyed his family most of all, but he also loved golf, gardening, warm weather, Cleveland sports and a good party.  He was able to achieve his dream of living someplace warm when he moved to Myrtle Beach, SC for several years.  He was active in the Italian-American community in Cleveland as well as Myrtle Beach.  He was known for his generous heart, warm smile, and sometimes very effective scowl.  He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

Friends will be received at NOSEK-McCREERY FUNERAL HOME, 8150 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, Ohio 44141 on Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 3-7 pm. Prayers at the funeral home Monday, May 16, 2022 at 9:30 am followed by Ignatius' Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 8700 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, OH. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery.
