Gloria Josephine Farr, born in Cleveland, Ohio, Dec. 13, 1945, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024. She was 78.
Gloria was born to Aracitio and Mary Vanario and grew up in Brecksville after moving there to start the fourth grade. She attended Brecksville High School where she met the love of her life and husband Bruce when they were just 15 years old. They were inseparable for 63 years and loved each other more than words can describe.
Gloria and Bruce built a house in Bath, Ohio, where they lived together since 1978, raising their boys Timothy and Michael, and later Andrew. Gloria loved working in her garden and doing outdoor projects around the house. Her flower and rock landscaping would rival any garden center. But she was most in her element cooking authentic Sicilian dinners for the family. She made her own pasta from scratch and her tomato sauce recipe was passed down by her Great Nana from the old country.
Gloria was also a huge Cleveland sports fan and always enjoyed going for walks on the beach at her vacation home in Marco Island, Florida.
Gloria lived for her family. She was strong and selfless, and the best matriarch a family could ask for. She loved nothing more than to get the family together, even if just for a couple hours on the weekend. She also had a wonderful sense of humor and was always happiest when laughing and spending time with Bruce, Tim, Mic and Andrew. The imprint Gloria left on her family and everyone who knew her was so special.
Gloria is survived by Bruce, Tim (Michelle), Mic (Pamela) and Andrew, brother James Vanar, grandchildren Zoë, Isabel and Evan, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
According to Gloria's wishes, all services will be private. Arrangements by Nosek-McCreery Funeral, Cremation, & Life Celebrations.
