George R. Prochaska

George R. Prochaska, age 86 passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2026. Beloved brother of LaVerne Colombo (George) (both deceased), Gerald, Lenore Guzoski (Rich, deceased), Louie (deceased) (Kathy, surviving), Jimmy (Betty), Karen Manista (David, deceased), Donna Prochaska and Michael (Sharon) (both deceased); Preceded in death by his parents Jerry and Elsie (nee Sibel) Prochaska; loving uncle of many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; George is also survived by his lady-friend Joanne and his good friend John; he leaves behind much loved employees and friends and will be missed.

George was an alumni of Benedictine High School where he also played football. He began his career right after graduation at East Ohio Gas company for 40 years. In 1982, George ventured into a new career by starting The London Pickle Works, located in Brecksville, OH. He quickly became a very prominent and generous part of the community. He donated to many athletic and other charitable organizations, along with hosting the Benedictine alumni quarterly plus many other school alumni gatherings. He also hosted many charitable benefits including the many Pickle Works golf outings and clam bakes. George was also involved with the numerous activities at St. Joseph Byzantine Church in Brecksville and spent many hours with Rick and Jimmy at Restaurant Depot.

Family and friends will be received at Nosek-McCreery Funeral Home, 8150 Brecksville Rd. Brecksville, OH 44141 on Sunday, August 23, 2026 from 2-7 pm. George's Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 8700 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, OH on Monday, August, 24, 2026 at 10 am (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment at a later date.
