On Tuesday, October 31, Fred Krause, our beloved husband, dad, grandpa, and great grandpa passed peacefully surrounded by Arlene and all five of his children.
To say he lived a full life in his 91 years is an understatement. From the Army to Purdue to traveling the world, from Indians baseball road trips and annual family ski trips, he lived and loved until his last moment. Family road trips to the National Parks and historical sites gave the Krauses a love of travel which has passed to each generation. However, he loved his second home in Ludington, Michigan best, where he made lasting memories with his grandchildren as his father did before him.
Fred and Arlene created a family full of love and laughter, and a lifetime of dancing, singing, and learning. Patient to a fault, Fred taught his children all they needed to know to be successful, and his advice was invaluable in all things great and small. He cherished Arlene above all, and together this couple taught their children that in all things, family matters most.
Although Fred traveled and experienced different cultures, his favorite place was wherever his family was, even if many times he was sitting quietly observing. He leaves a lasting legacy through his wife, Arlene, of nearly 70 years; five children--Fred/Linda, Pam/Robert, Kathy/Dan, Beth/Ben, and Patti/Doug; 12 grandchildren--Heather/Ray, Heidi/Mike, Benjamin/Kaitlynn, Michelle/Andrew, Brian/Sarah, Freddie/Ashley, Emily/Keith, Meghan/Blake, Sam, Erica, Eddie, and Joe; and eight great-grandchildren--Madelynne, Raymond, Brynn, Emma, Cole, Benjamin, Berkeley, and Stella.
Family and Friends are invited to attend Fred's Memorial Service, which will be held at Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 9201 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, OH 44141 on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., AND/OR join the family for a luncheon reception at Stancato's Restaurant, 7380 State Rd., Parma, OH 44134 at 1:00 p.m. A Private Family interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Fred's name to Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
The family will miss its patriarch, but he lives on through all of us. Please say a prayer for our family and send Mom/Granny all your love!
