FRANCES JANE FOLKMAN (née Plummer), age 98. Daughter of the late Charles and Anne Plummer (née Froelich). Sister of the late Charles Donald Plummer. Beloved wife of the late Hiram Folkman for 28 years. Loving mother of Charmian Perttu (Raimo), Diana Cutrone (Jack), and Tamsin Folkman (Vic Bocek). Devoted grandmother of Maarika Mann, Daniel Perttu, Hiram Fenjac, Hilary Domke, and Miranda Steffens. Cherished great grandmother of Gabriella, Rhianna, and John Mann, Annika and Fiona Perttu, Juliet and Charles Yankello, and Lily Domke.
Frances taught English, Spanish and Drama for twenty-two years at Brecksville-Broadview Hts. Middle School and for six years at Rocky River Schools earlier in her career. She loved teaching and sharing her enthusiasm for language, literature, and acting with her students. After her retirement in 1985, she continued her love of the arts in her library group, drama group, and living room learning. Frances was an actress in Brecksville Little Theater and Theater on the Square, happy to play both serious and comical roles.
She and her husband loved to travel extensively, taking their kids on vacations throughout the American West as well as to the Atlantic ocean, where many fond memories were made.
Family and Friends will be received at NOSEK-McCREERY FUNERAL HOME, 8150 BRECKSVILLE ROAD, BRECKSVILLE, OHIO, 44141 on Saturday, October 16, 2021, from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. followed by a graveside service at Calvary Cemetery, 10000 Miles Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio, 44105. Masks are required for all services.
