Eric Peter Rasmussen

Eric Peter Rasmussen, 71, passed away suddenly in his summer home in Broadview Heights, OH on September 1, 2026.

Eric was born on April 12, 1955, in Euclid, OH. He graduated first in his class from John Caroll University in 1977 with a degree in accounting. He had a successful career as a CPA at Arthur Young, Towner Petroleum, and Lomack, before moving into investment banking with Society and Key Bank. He later started his own business, Blackhawk Computer Services. He and his wife of 23 years, Robin Hudson, retired to The Villages, FL in 2015.

Eric was a devoted father and husband. He loved visiting Eddie’s Grill in Geneva on the Lake, debating current events with his children, playing with his grandchildren, pursuing genealogical research, and studying foreign languages. He was a voracious reader and always loved to challenge his mind. From the age of twelve he was an avid sailor along with his parents and sister, captaining Sarpedon through many races out of the Mentor Harbor Yacht Club. He enjoyed skiing, travelling, and cycling. He also had a passion for collecting rare history books, loved following motorsports, especially Formula 1, and was always willing to lend a hand with a project. Even in his later years, one of his favorite things was to get down on the ground to play silly games with his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife Robin; his children Alexander (Caitlin Coombes) Rasmussen, Ellen (Andrew) Serger, Daniel (Anne Haibach) Rasmussen, Elizabeth Dregne, Bradley (Halle) Chelko, and Lauren (Leandro) Schultz; six grandchildren Astrid, Emmett, Elliot, Owen, Harvey, and Lucy; and his golden retriever Skye.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Egon and Beverly Rasmussen, his sister Carol Noble, and his beloved golden retriever Molly. A private service was held for immediate family. A private burial will be determined at a later date.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family suspects Eric would have wanted you to take your family to the museum for a day.
