Edward Telecky, Jr. Obituary

EDWARD JOSEPH TELECKY JR., age 73, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022.  Beloved husband of Linda (nee Fox) for 45 years.  Loving father of Chris (Michelle) and Lindsay Brown (Mike).  Devoted papa of Jordan and Brady Brown.  Dear son of the late Edward and Anne.  Dearest brother-in-law of the late Debra Fox.

Ed attended John Adams High school where he met his soulmate Linda. They ultimately married in 1977 after dating for 12 years.

Eddie always loved American muscle cars dating back to when he was a teenager, and was able to get his coveted muscle car, a beautiful 1967 GTO that he cherished and maintained meticulously.

During their time together, he and Linda began to expand their interests and hobbies. Eddie became an avid boater and joined the Forest City Yacht Club in 1974.  He and Linda became a fixture of that club immediately, chairing and working club events while assisting with a variety of duties to further the club's success. In 1990, Eddie became Commodore of the Forest City Yacht Club, which was certainly one highlight of his many life accomplishments. With their wonderful friends at the club, he and Linda spent many years traveling to various ports of call in Lake Erie, Lake Ontario and Lake Huron while Eddie remained tirelessly committed to many other associations in the boating community. Eddie was always willing and eager to teach and mentor anyone that had the desire to get into boating, including his son Chris, who followed in his footsteps and became Commodore of the Forest City Yacht Club in 2021.

Ed retired from Ohio Bell after 30 years, which provided him more time to enjoy his pastimes, and as the years passed, he enjoyed spending his time taking trips with his family. This was especially true when it came to going to Key West, Florida. There are too many beautiful memories to share around the many trips that were taken there, but you could generally find Eddie at Sloppy Joes listening to the live bands and enjoying a Miller Lite on any given afternoon that he was in town. These trips to Key West became even more special to him as he included his children and grandchildren whom he cherished.

Eddie's love of travel went well beyond Key West, with many of his favorite trips being Caribbean and Mediterranean cruises, as well as a cruise to the Baltic Sea.

Aside from muscle cars, boating and travel, Eddie stayed forever young with his love of model trains and being a wonderful papa to Jordan and Brady.

At his core, Eddie's hobbies and interests were truly his family and friends. He touched so many lives in a positive way, loved all and was loved by all, and he will be truly missed by anyone that had the pleasure of meeting him.
