DORIS M. CALDART (nee Eckstein), age 98, of Hudson, formerly of Brecksville,
joined with the Lord on July 26, 2026. Loving wife of 60 years to husband
Donald ("Don"), who preceded her in death on February 16, 2020. Dearest
mother of Nancy (Eric) Gerstner, Donald (Kathleen) Caldart and late daughter
Cynthia. Loving grandmother of Caroline, Claire, Matthew and Stephen. Sister
of the late Ruth Froehlke and brother-in-law, Jack. Preceded in death by
parents Coleman and Nettie Eckstein (nee Uvaas).
Raised on her family's farm in Winchester, Wisconsin, Doris learned early
the values of hard work, faith, and family; qualities that would define her
throughout her life. She graduated from Winneconne High School with the
Class of 1946 before earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics
from the Stout Institute in Menomonie, Wisconsin. She began her career as a
high school teacher and later served as a County Extension Agent, sharing
her knowledge and encouraging others. After marrying Don, she devoted
herself to raising their children, creating a loving home, and serving her
community. Doris and Don were devoted, active, longtime members of Christ
the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Brecksville, where their faith shaped the
way they lived and loved. Together they found joy in music, especially
through evenings spent at performances by the Cleveland Orchestra. Doris
also shared her talents through the P.E.O. Sisterhood, the Emerald Necklace
Garden Club, and volunteer efforts in the Brecksville community, enriching
the lives of those around her.
Above all, Doris was dedicated to her family and her belief in Jesus Christ
as her Lord and Savior. Her legacy endures in the family she cherished, the
friendships she nurtured, and the countless lives she touched with her
gentle spirit and generous heart.
