DENNIS WILLIAM KOWALSKI, age 80. Beloved husband of Gloria (nee Prosen) for 32 years. Loving father of Kelly Ann Sedivy (David) and Karin Kowalski Kagan (Joshua). Stepfather of Cheri Clyde (Michael) and Kathleen Jenkins (Dane). Cherished grandfather of Nicholas and Alyssa Sedivy, Kyle and Colin Kagan, and step-grandfather of Joe Rifici, Stephanie Thorkelson (Evan), and Dani Rifici (Tim). Great grandfather of Luka Thorkelson. Dear brother of Lynda Lynch. Beloved cousin of many. He is also survived by his beloved white shepherd Rudy.
Dennis was a graduate of Holy Name Class of 1957, where he was a star basketball player. He attended Ohio University. As a teen he was proudly awarded a sweater to commemorate his title as Duncan Yoyo Champ. An avid sports lover, Dennis enjoyed pitching for his softball league. A lifelong member of the YMCA, he participated in many racquet and handball tournaments and enjoyed swimming. Golf was also a passion, and Dennis was a member of many golf leagues. Dennis loved spending time with his family in Hilton Head each summer. He appreciated the beauty of the Cuyahoga Valley and Metropark system where he would often take his dog, Rudy. He was a loyal and generous friend to all, known in his inner circle as the "Social Director".
Family and Friends will be received at NOSEK-McCREERY FUNERAL HOME, 8150 BRECKSVILLE RD., BRECKSVILLE, OH 44141 on Thursday, June 18, 2020 from 4-8 p.m. Dennis' Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Name Church, 8328 Broadway Ave., Cleveland, OH 44105 on Friday, June 19, 2020 at 11:00a.m. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the number of people allowed inside the funeral home at any given time will be limited and therefore you may be waiting outside for a period of time. Please come dressed based on the weather. We are requesting all guests wear masks.
