Chuck Slusarczyk, age 81 of Brecksville, OH passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022. Beloved husband of Nancy (nee Sobbota), Loving father of Chuck Jr., Dave (Barb), Don (Anne), and the late Ted Slusarczyk; Dearest grandfather of Megan Shields (Matt), Hailey Nelson (Kyle), Ali, and Austin Slusarczyk; Dear brother of Stan "Bud" (Pat), Maralee Rodgers (Robert, deceased), and the late James Slusarczyk (Cookie, surviving).
Chuck worked at NASA Lewis in Cleveland, OH and became a pioneer in the Hang Gliding (Chuck's Glider Supplies) and Ultralight industry (CGS Aviation). He designed the award winning CGS Hawk line of aircraft and was an inaugural inductee into the EAA Ultralight Hall of Fame. His aircraft are on display in 3 aviation museums (EAA, Sun-N-Fun, MAPS).
His love of aviation spilled over into his hobby of building and competing in regional and national indoor model flying competitions winning numerous awards and setting national records. Chuck had a great sense of humor and was always the life of the party leading sing-a-longs around the campfire playing guitar and harmonica. Chuck was a loving family man who loved to make up stories and tell jokes.
Friends will be received at Nosek-McCreery Funeral Home, 8150 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, OH 44141 on Monday, October 3, 2022 from 4-8 pm. Chuck's Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 8700 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, OH on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 10 am (please meet at church). Burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery.
