Amelia "Amy" Serpentini Obituary

Amelia "Amy" Rose Serpentini, 91, of Brecksville, passed away in her home on January 8, 2024.

Amy was born in Brooklyn NY on May 2, 1933 to parents Elvira and Peter Sutera. She graduated from Lafayette High School in Brooklyn with top honors at 17 years old. Amy made the move to Ohio when she was 19 years old.

Amy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" in 2018. They lived a long life together with many adventures and were married for 63 years. She was a loving and devoted wife until Bob's last days. Amy was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Anne (Leonard) Olsen.

Amy was a proud, loving mother. She is survived by her children Robert Jr., Paul, Carol (Daniel) Lester, and Alyssa (Kristopher Palmer). Amy was Grandmother to Robert III (Mary Frances), Ryan, Alexia (Hun Jae Lee), Andrew (deceased), Jordan, Jason, James (Patricia) Lester, and Quinn Amelia. She was great grandmother to Francesca and Robert IV. She had many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Amy lived her life to the fullest and was rich in experiences and love. She was a charter member of the Lions Club for 54 years. Amy was an integral part of the Brecksville community where she owned Germaine Fashions in the Brecksville Shopping Center for 22 years, until retiring in 1995.

Being a strong business woman, Amy was a woman ahead of her time. She was an avid golfer who would proudly tell you about her hole in one, a skier, an adventurer, she loved to dance and was an amazing cook, using her secret ingredient of love in every meal. Amy continued to exercise until her last day and believed that was the key to longevity. That, and a half glass of red wine with every dinner.

Amy has traveled the world. She went back to school to learn nautical charting in her 60's. She was always ready to have a good time and was happiest surrounded by family and friends.

In her later years Amy was an active member of the Brecksville Recreation Center. She belonged to a neighborhood book club and played Mahjong monthly. She had an active social life with many friends that she cherished deeply. She found love again at 90 years old and that relationship gave her a new spark that we were all thrilled to experience. She was quick witted and honest. She had a lovely smile a great laugh. Amy was an incredible force and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
